Operations Manager Position Summary Cape Fear Boat Lifts is seeking a dependable Welder / Manufacturing Assembler to support the fabrication and assembly of high-quality boat lift systems and related components. This role requires hands-on welding, mechanical assembly, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with metal components, and takes pride in producing clean, accurate, and durable work. Experience with aluminum fabrication, boat lifts, marine construction, or similar manufacturing work is preferred. Key Responsibilities Weld, fabricate, and assemble boat lift components according to drawings, work orders, and production requirements. Perform MIG/TIG welding as required, with a focus on clean, strong, and consistent welds. Cut, drill, grind, fit, and prepare metal parts for assembly. Assemble structural components, brackets, beams, cradle parts, pulleys, cables, fasteners, motors, and other lift-related hardware. Read and interpret basic shop drawings, measurements, and assembly instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, saws, grinders, drills, measuring tools, and shop equipment safely. Inspect parts and finished assemblies for quality, alignment, fit, finish, and accuracy. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area. Assist with inventory organization, material handling, and staging parts for production. Follow company procedures for quality control, safety, and production workflow. Work with the manufacturing team to meet production schedules and customer deadlines. Report material shortages, equipment issues, drawing discrepancies, or quality concerns to management. Required Qualifications Prior welding, fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing experience. Ability to accurately read a tape measure and work from basic dimensions. Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Dependable attendance and willingness to work as part of a team. Ability to follow instructions, shop procedures, and safety requirements. Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability. Preferred Qualifications Experience welding aluminum. MIG and/or TIG welding experience. Experience in marine construction, boat lifts, docks, trailers, metal fabrication, or structural assembly. Forklift experience. Ability to read shop drawings, cut lists, or production work orders. Experience with drilling, fitting, bolting, grinding, and final assembly of metal products. Desired Traits Reliable and punctual. Takes pride in workmanship. Willing to learn Cape Fear Boat Lifts' products and production methods. Works well with supervisors and coworkers. Maintains a clean and organized workspace. Understands that quality and consistency matter in marine-grade manufacturing.
