Full-time Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and versatile Welding & Fabrication Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks, as well as general assembly of finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
Welding & Fabrication:
Perform a variety of welding techniques on various materials (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.). Primarily MIG. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication of components. Assemble and fabricate parts and structures by cutting, grinding, bending, drilling, and welding materials to meet specifications. Utilize fabrication tools such as saws, grinders, presses, and other equipment to shape and prepare materials. Inspect and ensure the quality and structural integrity of welds and fabricated components.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow and enforce all safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all safety measures are observed during welding, fabrication, and maintenance tasks. Ability to work well with others to ensure that production schedules are met and have the physical capability of thriving in a heavy industrial environment and performing well in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, noise). Adhere to company policies and industry regulations regarding quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in welding, fabrication, maintenance, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in both welding/fabrication and maintenance/repair roles. Strong proficiency in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) and fabrication tools (saws, grinders, presses). Experience with CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, and general machinery maintenance is a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of safety protocols and adherence to safety standards. Basic computer skills. Ability to speak to customers and staff in a professional manner.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs). Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding conditions. Comfortable working in a workshop environment with exposure to noise, heat, fumes, and other environmental factors.
