Description:
Summary The Production Assembler is responsible for a variety of parts made of various materials to produce clutches/brakes/associated components. Performs evaluation/acceptance test and all necessary final inspections on products. The job involves ensuring that all components are put together accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications or quality standards. Works with product and manufacturing engineering personnel as necessary to develop and test new processes/product designs.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assembling various parts or components of a product according to instructions or blueprints. This can involve manual assembly, machine operation, or both.
  • Adjusts/aligns parts to maintain specified air gap/dimensional/performance characteristics
  • Solders wire connections/terminals
  • Cleans parts with liquid cleaner/air hoses/cloth
  • Tests electric circuits for resistance/current, etc.
  • Measures/adjusts torque/performs performance tests/leak tests/endurance tests
  • Performs basic manufacturing processes such as turning/milling/drilling as necessary to assemble/disassemble products
  • Assembles parts using hand tools/arbor presses/hydraulic presses, etc.
  • Uses micrometers/calipers/oscilloscopes/voltmeters to measure output/inspect dimensional characteristics
  • Operates bench/engine dynamometers to evaluate product performance
  • Inspects returned product to identify problems/repair requirements
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance activities on shop equipment as required
  • Maintains organized work and plans out tasks to ensure customer specifications and deliveries are met
Requirements:
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Familiarity with tools and machinery.
  • Manual dexterity and physical stamina.
  • Basic math skills for measurements.
  • Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing.
Education and Experience:
  • 5 years' experience in production assembler capacity preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
