Job Description

About us Classic Countertops has been building and installing countertops in Northeast Ohio since 1988. We are family owned, and we do not use subcontractors. The same crew that measures a job fabricates it and installs it, so the work carries our name from the first cut to the last seam. We are looking for an experienced polisher for the stone shop. This is not an entry level position. You should already be able to take an edge to finish on your own. What you will do Polish granite, quartz, and quartzite edges to finish, including eased, bullnose, ogee, mitered, and waterfall edges Run wet polishers, edge profilers, and hand grinders through the full grit progression to a consistent shine Dress cut edges, radius corners, and finish sink cutouts and rodded areas Polish and finish undermount sink reveals so they are smooth and even all the way around Inspect slabs and finished pieces for chips, scratches, burn marks, and shade differences before they ship Fill and color match small pits and fissures with resin Keep water lines, pads, and equipment maintained, and keep the wet area clean and safe Help load, move, and install slabs as needed What we are looking for
Required:
3 or more years polishing or finishing natural stone or quartz in a countertop shop. We are hiring for skill you already have, not skill we will teach you. A real eye for finish quality. You should be able to see a low spot or a dull section under shop light and fix it before anyone asks. Comfortable working wet, with the right PPE, all day Able to lift 75 pounds with help and safely handle slabs with a crew Reliable transportation and a clean, valid driver's license Shows up on time, every day. Small shop, so one missing person is felt. Nice to have
Preferred:
experience running a four-axis diamond saw. If you have run one, say so in your application. Fabrication experience as well as polishing. If you have also cut granite or built laminate tops, tell us. We run stone and laminate under one roof, and people who can move between the polishing bay, the saw, and the laminate bench are worth more to us and get paid accordingly. CNC or bridge saw experience Seaming and installation experience, including color matched epoxy Templating or digital measuring experience What we offer Steady year round work, not seasonal Monday through Friday Paid time off and holidays Raises based on what you can actually do, not on how long you have been here A shop where you work on every part of the trade instead of doing one step over and over How to apply Apply through this posting. If you have photos of edges you have polished, attach them. Please do not call or stop by the shop. We review every application that comes in and we will reach out to set up a time to talk.
