This position is responsible for safely and accurately disassembling welded automotive components to support weld validation and quality testing processes. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience using hand and power tools, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change frequently. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform complete and partial disassembly of welded automotive components while preserving weld structure, shape, and form for validation purposes. Follow visual identifiers and work instructions to ensure materials requiring weld validation are properly separated and accessible for measurement. Safely operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, air hammers, torque tools, lifts, hoists, and other shop equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S principles. Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental guidelines. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Production teams to support project objectives. Meet quality and productivity expectations in a prototype manufacturing environment. Additional Responsibilities Inspect components for wear, defects, damage, or other quality concerns. Assist with material handling and movement throughout the facility. Support Cut & Etch processes, including: Cutting welded components Sanding and preparing material surfaces Assisting with weld penetration validation and inspection QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or GED preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic equipment. Ability to read and follow work instructions, diagrams, and basic technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a prototype manufacturing environment. Preferred Previous experience in automotive manufacturing, prototype build environments, or vehicle tear-down operations. Forklift certification or experience. Overhead crane experience. Experience using air hammers, chisels, grinders, and other disassembly tools. Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequently bend, twist, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb around large assemblies. Perform repetitive motions using hand and power tools. Work overhead and in confined or awkward positions. Safely handle large automotive components and assemblies. Work in varying temperatures and industrial manufacturing conditions.
