Job Description

About the Role As a Metal Fabrication Technician, you will play a vital role in transforming raw materials into high-quality grating products by interpreting complex blueprints and executing precise welding tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring production accuracy and maintaining equipment efficiency, contributing directly to the structural integrity and timely delivery of our metal components. Responsibilities Interpret technical drawings to perform accurate layout, assembly, and fabrication of diverse grating product lines. Execute high-quality MIG and Stick welding on carbon, stainless steel, and aluminum materials to meet strict specifications. Operate overhead and jib cranes safely to maneuver heavy grating panels during the assembly process. Utilize a variety of industrial power tools, including saws, grinders, and cutting torches, to achieve precise dimensions. Maintain inventory accuracy by completing detailed production logs and time sheets. Perform routine preventative maintenance on fabrication machinery to ensure consistent operational uptime. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot fabrication challenges and support various production lines as needed. Uphold a clean, organized, and safe workspace while adhering to all established safety protocols. Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in MIG and Stick welding techniques with experience in carbon, stainless, or aluminum. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings. Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to work with fractions and both metric and standard measurements. Experience operating overhead cranes and industrial power tools. Physical capability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform repetitive manual tasks. Preferred Skills 2-4 years of professional experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. Current or previous AWS welding certifications (D1.1, D1.2, or D1.5). Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced production setting.
