Assembler / Plastics Fabricator Job Description This role focuses on manufacturing custom fabricated plastic products from start to finish, including fabrication, assembly, and plumbing of plastic components. You will work with a variety of plastic materials, use power tools and measuring instruments, and ensure all products meet specifications and quality standards in a clean manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Manufacture custom fabricated plastic products from start to finish, following detailed prints and work instructions. Remove leftover material from the CNC cutting process and ensure all parts are clean and properly prepared for assembly. Deburr and remove sharp edges from materials to ensure safety and product quality. Measure parts accurately and cross-reference them with prints to ensure they are within specified tolerances. Verify that all parts required to complete each job are present, correctly labeled, and organized. Assemble parts using welding, gluing, bending, shaping, drilling, and tapping techniques to meet design requirements. Label finished products clearly with the correct part numbers and identification markings. Perform plastics fabrication tasks such as tube bending and plastic welding with a high level of precision. Flare and bend Teflon tubing according to specifications and layout requirements. Glue and thread PVC pipe and ensure all connections meet quality and safety standards. Connect fittings correctly and securely to create complete plumbing assemblies. Label all plumbing lines accurately to match prints and system layouts. Test all plumbing assemblies, inspect for leaks, and correct any issues before final approval. Work with acrylic and foam materials as needed to complete custom assemblies. Use power tools such as chop saws, table saws, jointers, routers, drills, and heat guns safely and effectively. Read and interpret blueprints to guide fabrication, assembly, and inspection activities. Operate forklifts and move pallet jacks to handle materials and products weighing up to 150 lbs. Collaborate with team members to solve problems, improve processes, and ensure on-time completion of jobs. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures on the manufacturing floor. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with plastics fabrication, including tube bending and plastic welding. Ability to perform plastic assembly using welding, gluing, bending, shaping, drilling, and tapping techniques. Proficiency in using power tools safely, including chop saws, table saws, jointers, routers, drills, and heat guns. Strong understanding of measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and rulers. Ability to read and understand blueprints and use them to guide fabrication and assembly work. Capability to operate forklifts and move pallet jacks with loads of up to 150 lbs. Attention to detail and the ability to use basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Ability to work well with others in a team environment and contribute to problem solving. Ability to correctly label parts, products, and plumbing lines according to documentation. Willingness and ability to work a day shift schedule from Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with acrylic and foam materials in a fabrication or assembly environment. in plumbing-related tasks such as flaring and bending Teflon tubing, gluing and threading PVC pipe, and connecting fittings. The environment involves regular use of power tools such as chop saws, table saws, jointers, routers, drills, and heat guns, as well as forklifts and pallet jacks for material handling up to 150 lbs. Work centers around plastics fabrication, assembly, and plumbing tasks, using tools for precise measurement and inspection. The setting emphasizes cleanliness, order, and adherence to safety procedures while supporting collaborative teamwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
