Assembly Technician Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Technician responsible for the mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assemblies of food processing equipment according to blueprints and other written and verbal specifications. This role requires the operation of production line equipment with a level of complexity requiring specified training to assemble products, units, machines, equipment, and subassemblies. Responsibilities Operate production line equipment and assemble products, units, machines, equipment, and subassemblies. Mount and connect auxiliary, mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, cut and fit pipe and tubing. Remove small quantities of metal using hand files, emery cloth, or portable grinders to clean parts and produce a close fit between parts. Align components with bolts and screws using hand tools or portable powered tools. Drill, tap, or ream holes using a drill press or portable drill. Install moving parts such as shafts, levers, or bearings ensuring free movement. Thread, bend, and install pipe for electrical conduit. Align and mesh gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears. Test or assist in testing operation of completed products. Operate machines such as arbor, brake, or punch presses, shears, cut off saws, form roller, and drill press to cut and shape components to specified dimensions. Troubleshoot fit, form, and function issues and relay feedback to lead and engineering department. Essential Skills Precision mechanical assembly, preferably with aerospace caliber assembly experience. Blueprint and schematic reading with strong experience. Experience in mechanical assembly, pneumatic tools, bearings, gearbox assembly, and pipe installation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, auto or small engine mechanic, fabrication. Problem-solving and decision-making skills in line with organizational philosophies and practices. Ability to execute and meet deadlines with attention to detail. Capability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Effective communication skills ensuring messages are received and understood. Ability to interpret complex issues into simple language. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and spreadsheets. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a clean weld shop, with bench work and portions of the shop equipped with fabrication machines and a larger production weld area. The position operates on a day shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00am to 2:30pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
