$18.35 per hour 26-09265 Job summary The Assembler I is responsible for assembling details, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies according to instructions. This role involves working with hand tools, bench and power tools, and performing simple electrical and mechanical tests. The assembler works under the direction of a supervisor or group leader to complete assigned tasks. Responsibilities Assemble details, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies using hand tools, bench, and power tools. Load and unload contacts, solder shims or paste, and conductors on carbon assembly boats for furnace brazing. Load and unload carbon assembly boats on belt furnace for brazing. Perform simple electrical and mechanical tests such as ground test and dielectric test. Make up cartons, pack, and stamp or label. Perform soldering, cut insulation to size, cut off strip and assemble leads, cut loop and form wires, cut solder shims, and wash material with solvent. Operate riveter, squeezer, drill press, spinners, tappers, belt sanders, and bench grinder. Load and unload automatic and semi-automatic equipment. Check for defective work and report defective work and equipment. Move material as required. Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly. Qualifications Must be able to lift up to and including forty (40) pounds. Must be able to work the scheduled hours. Some manufacturing knowledge preferred.
