Job Description
About the Position Tech 2000 Woodworks is looking for an experienced Millwork Finisher / Shop Millworker to join our production team. This position is responsible for producing high-quality architectural millwork and custom woodwork in our shop, with a strong focus on finishing, detail work, assembly, and quality control . We build custom architectural millwork and cabinetry for commercial projects, including healthcare, hospitality, education, corporate, and institutional spaces. Responsibilities Perform sanding, preparation, staining, sealing, and finishing of wood components and millwork Apply stains, paints, clear coats, and other finishing products as required Read shop drawings and understand dimensions, details, and finish requirements Assemble and fit custom millwork, cabinetry, panels, and architectural components Perform detailed handwork and touch-ups to achieve a high-quality finished product Operate standard woodworking and finishing equipment safely Inspect work for quality, accuracy, finish consistency, and defects Make adjustments and corrections as needed before work moves to the next stage Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Work closely with the Shop Foreman and other production team members to meet project schedules Follow project-specific material and finish requirements Assist with general millwork production when needed Qualifications Previous experience in architectural millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, finishing, or custom fabrication Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship Ability to read and understand shop drawings Experience with wood finishing, staining, painting, or clear coating preferred Experience with cabinet or millwork assembly preferred Ability to accurately measure and work with dimensions Ability to work independently and as part of a production team Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to safely lift and move materials and finished components OSHA/safety awareness and a commitment to maintaining a safe shop environment Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on craftsman who takes pride in producing high-quality work. We are looking for someone who can look at a finished piece and recognize when something needs to be corrected before it leaves the shop. Experience with custom architectural millwork, high-end cabinetry, commercial casework, or furniture finishing is a strong plus.
