Heavy Industrial Assembler - Mechanical $25-30/HR Job Description This role focuses on building custom line-painting trucks for runways and roadways, taking each vehicle from a rolling chassis and cab to a fully completed truck with all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components installed and functioning. You will perform hands-on mechanical assembly, wiring, and fabrication work, using a variety of tools and equipment to install compressors, tanks, pressure vessels, spray guns, and other customer-specific components. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, experience in automotive, diesel, or industrial repair, and a desire to grow into a highly skilled and potentially leadership-level assembler. Responsibilities Assemble custom line-painting trucks from rolling chassis and cab to fully finished vehicles with all components and accessories installed and operating correctly. Install and connect mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components including compressors, tanks, pressure vessels, spray guns, and related systems. Perform wiring and basic electrical work to ensure all installed components function safely and reliably. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics to guide assembly and installation work. Use hand tools and power tools to fabricate, modify, and install brackets, mounts, and other hardware required for component installation. Measure, align, and fit parts accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure precise assembly and proper system function. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues during assembly and perform necessary adjustments or repairs. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow, resolve technical issues, and ensure on-time completion of trucks. Follow production schedules, work instructions, and quality standards to deliver high-quality finished vehicles. Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle tools and equipment safely and responsibly. Adhere to all safety procedures and shop policies while working in a manufacturing environment. Participate in cross-training across different assembly tasks and support continuous improvement in processes and quality. Essential Skills Proven experience in mechanical assembly, mechanical repair, or a closely related trade. Hands-on background in automotive, diesel, or industrial equipment repair, maintenance, or assembly. Experience working with hydraulic systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly, fabrication, and installation work. Capability to perform wiring tasks and troubleshoot basic electrical issues on vehicles or equipment. Experience working with pneumatic or hydraulic systems in a shop or manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and correct assembly issues. Ability to use a tape measure and other measuring devices accurately for precise builds. Comfort working in a shop or manufacturing environment with industrial equipment and production processes. Demonstrated work history showing reliability, consistency, and longevity in previous roles. Willingness to work mandatory overtime on Fridays and occasional Saturdays as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a diesel mechanic, automotive technician, or industrial maintenance technician. Experience in machine building or industrial assembly environments. Familiarity with mechanical troubleshooting on complex vehicles or machinery. Previous experience in general labor roles involving mechanical or industrial tasks. Interest in cross-training across multiple assembly functions and learning new technical skills. You will work primarily on a 1st shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with mandatory overtime on Fridays from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the possibility of some Saturday work when needed. The environment involves hands-on work around trucks, industrial equipment, and assembly stations, using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices daily. The shop setting includes typical manufacturing conditions such as noise, moving vehicles, and active production areas, and you should be comfortable in a shop/manufacturing attire appropriate for mechanical and industrial work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Muncy, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
