Job Description
Job Overview Operate as a full-process fabricator for structural steel components on first shift. Responsibilities
- Handle structural steel material in preparation for assembly of main members with accessory parts
- Read and interpret 2d steel shop drawings
- Lay out structural steel main members using information from 2d shop drawings
- Fitup, tack, weld, and bolt accessory material to main members in accordance with shop drawings
- Check other fabricators layout and fitup of accessory material
- Prime main members with single coat shop primer when required by shop drawings.
- Load completed fabricated material to be shipped to jobsite. Qualifications
- 5-6 years demonstrated experience in a structural steel fabrication shop - particularly in reading and interpreting shop drawings
- Welding certification preferred but not required
- Familiarity with shop equipment including but not limited to FCAW Welding machines, Oxygen Acetylene torch, mag drill, ironworker, press brake, saw, etc.
