The ideal Assembler candidate has experience working in a mechanical manufacturing environment and knowledge of hydraulics. Must be a team player with strong attention to detail.POSITION SUMMARY
The Assembler in Final Assembly is responsible for assembling hydraulic jacks and pistons for elevators, ensuring all components meet quality standards and specifications. This role involves interpreting technical instructions, using various tools, and performing quality checks to ensure the final products are ready for use. Assemblers in Final Assembly play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of hydraulic jacks and pistons used in elevators. Their attention to detail and adherence to quality standards are essential for the smooth operation of the final products.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assembly:
Assemble hydraulic jacks and pistons according to blueprints and technical specifications.Quality Control:
Inspect and test assembled products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.Technical Interpretation:
Read and comprehend technical instructions, blueprints, and engineering drawings.Tool Operation:
Use hand and power tools to assemble parts and components.Inventory Management:
Keep track of parts and tools used in the assembly process.Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, including any issues or defects encountered.Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure efficient production and assembly processes.QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to obtain company forklift certification within 30 days of employment. Ability and desire to cross-train as back-up in other areas of the manufacturing plant. Ability and willingness to learn. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprint drawings. Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted (100 lbs. assisted). Ability to read and use a tape measure. Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools. Ability to work as an individual and as a team. Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality. Basic computer literacy. Experience with crane and forklift operations. Experience with rigging and use of lifting devices. Familiarity with OSHA industrial standards. Mechanical and mathematical aptitude. Positive work-attitude. Reliable and highly motivated. Supports team by performing tasks related to organization and strong communication. Team player and respectful of others. Education/Experience Required High school diploma or GED. 2+ years experience in mechanical, hydraulic, or precision assembly. Experience in elevator, fluid power, or heavy mechanical manufacturing preferred.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is a physical and labor-intensive position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in a standard manufacturing environment where they are required to stand and move for extended periods of time. The employee will also be expected to spend time using a computer and other machines. The environment can be extremely hot at times. This environment involves standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, and crouching. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and balance up to 50 pounds (unassisted) and must be able to do so with extreme care and caution.
