In this role, you will be responsible for applying finishing touches to custom millwork products, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards. Your expertise will help transform raw materials into polished, professional-grade finished pieces ready for installation or sale. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with precision tools and advanced finishing techniques in a dynamic production environment. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces of millwork components through sanding, grinding, and surface preparation techniques suitable for various materials such as wood, MDF, or composite materials. Apply finishes including paint, stain, lacquer, or powder coating using airless paint spraying equipment or manual hand tools to achieve smooth, consistent coatings. Operate machinery such as CNC machines, machining tools, and fabrication equipment with precision to ensure accurate dimensions and quality standards. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection to maintain a safe working environment. Handle materials safely using forklifts and cranes when moving heavy or bulky components within the production area. Conduct visual color comparisons and quality inspections to verify finish consistency and adherence to design specifications. Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained for optimal performance. Requirements Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial painting, auto body repair, or construction painting surface preparation is highly desirable. Familiarity with powder coating processes and industrial painting techniques is a plus. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and machining instruments accurately. Knowledge of materials handling procedures using forklifts and cranes to move heavy components safely. Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as calipers or micrometers. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction on the production line. Warehouse experience or familiarity with fabrication environments is beneficial.
