Position Overview :

The Fabrication Technician 2 plays a critical role in our fabrication process, demonstrating advanced skills and expertise to ensure the highest quality of products. As Fabrication Technician 2, you will take on additional responsibilities and contribute to the development and training of junior technicians. Your expertise in fabrication techniques and a meticulous approach to work will contribute to the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Storefront and Curtain Wall System Fabrication:

Receive and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to understand project specifications. Identify materials, dimensions, and assembly processes required for storefront and curtain wall fabrication. Utilize your knowledge of fabrication techniques to perform precise shaping, and drilling of materials according to technical drawings and specifications. You will operate and maintain a range of fabrication machinery and tools, such as saws, CNC routers, drills, and edging machines. Your attention to detail will ensure accurate dimensions, smooth finishes, and proper alignment during the fabrication process.

• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to review and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Lead fabrication projects, providing guidance and support to junior technicians to ensure accurate and efficient execution of tasks.
• Utilize advanced fabrication techniques and equipment to produce high quality storefront and curtain wall components, meeting project specifications and deadlines.
• Conduct thorough quality control checks and inspections to ensure compliance with design standards and customer requirements.
• Implement process improvements and optimizations to enhance fabrication efficiency, productivity, and quality.
• Act as a mentor to junior technicians, providing training, feedback, and support to foster their professional growth and development.
• Safety: Always adhere to established safety protocols and practices. Lead by example in maintaining a safe work environment, actively identifying, and addressing potential safety hazards to ensure the wellbeing of all team members.
• Utilize the ADP Workforce Now (WFN) app for clocking in and out to ensure accurate timekeeping. If there is an issue or technical problem with the app, please contact your manager immediately to report it.
• Regular and punctual attendance at the main facility is required during weekdays, with the possibility of occasional weekend shifts as needed.

Timeliness is essential and expected.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in glass fabrication, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of advanced glass fabrication techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Skilled in operating fabrication machinery and tools, such as cutting tables, glass saws, drills, and edging machines.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving fabrication issues.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively mentor and train junior technicians.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
