Job Description

Job Summary Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. Work from diagrams and drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws. Determine and/or follow methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing on assembly units. Conduct continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies. May conduct quality inspections on processing lines in accordance with quality specifications. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and sub-assemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions. Responsibilities Assist the supervisor in the direction of day-to-day activities of all electronic and mechanical assembly. Work under limited supervision with some instructions on routine work and general instructions on new assignments. Use professional concepts to solve a variety of problems. Work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature, requiring judgment in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Interact daily with supervisors, peer groups, and customers, primarily exchanging or presenting factual information. May serve in a lead role and train others. Qualifications High school education or equivalent. 3 years of related experience. Some knowledge and experience, capable of handling unusual job events. Requires more than common sense, with some training and experience needed for special circumstances. Impact Decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules.
