The Automotive Installation Technician is responsible for executing the installation of client systems on commercial fleet vehicles in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safety requirements. This role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to perform installations efficiently within a structured, high-volume deployment environment. Technicians are expected to follow defined processes, ensure installation quality, and support overall site productivity. This position reports to the Site Leader.KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Installation Execution Perform installations on fleet vehicles following approved SOPs and work instructions Execute all installation steps accurately, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards Maintain consistent cycle times aligned with production targets Use tools and equipment properly and safely during all installation activities Quality Assurance Ensure all installations meet defined quality standards and acceptance criteria Perform self-checks and support quality inspections as required Identify and report defects, inconsistencies, or installation issues Support rework activities when necessary Safety Compliance Follow all safety procedures, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and site safety guidelines Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times Maintain a clean and organized work area Report on safety risks, incidents, or near misses immediately Material Handling & Inventory Support Retrieve and handle materials from on-site storage (e.g., PODs) Verify parts and kits prior to installation Ensure proper handling of components to avoid damage or loss Support basic inventory tracking and material organization Vehicle Readiness & Inspection Support Support basic vehicle readiness checks prior to installation (e.g., visual inspection) Flag issues or non-ready vehicles to the Site Leader Follow defined processes for deferring vehicles not meeting installation criteria Reporting & Documentation Record installation activities and required data using PAC digital tools (PATHFINDER) Capture required evidence (e.g., photos, VIN tracking) for traceability and quality audits Ensure accurate and complete documentation for each installation Team Collaboration Work collaboratively with team members to maintain workflow and meet daily targets Support onboarding and knowledge sharing with other technicians Follow direction from Site Leader and contribute to a positive team environment Continuous Improvement Provide feedback on installation process improvements Support implementation of updated SOPs and best practices Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce reworkREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1-3
years of experience in automotive, mechanical, or installation-related roles Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools Ability to follow detailed instructions and SOPs Strong attention to detail and quality focus Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Valid driver's licensePREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience in vehicle upfitting, retrofits, or fleet installation programs Familiarity with structured production or assembly environments Experience using digital tools for reporting or work tracking Basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting experiencePROJECT REQUIREMENTS
