DESCRIPTION LEO
is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. LEO will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. Key job responsibilities Driving and developing departmental continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation. Assemble mechanical and electrical satellite components, sub-assemblies, and integration assemblies, fabricating and/or processing materials into complex manufactured products, and operating testing equipment and tooling, all in a Cleanroom and ESD control environment. Lead process work and review output for quality and adherence to standards and procedures Lead daily team meeting facilitation, end-of-shift reporting, and coordinating efforts to minimize production interruptions. Support new-hire training programs within your department and contribute to development and modification of training programs. You develop training plans for your team and are responsible for implementing training programs within your department. Drive safety standards and operations protocol while ensuring team compliance. A day in the life The Lead MFG Assembly Technician will identify process improvements to improve build efficiency. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams on both early hardware development and setting the stage for later production hardware manufacturing processes. The successful candidate thrives in a fast paced, start-up like environment and are able to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills and commitment to quality to positively impact team metrics and organization goals. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution. About the team We are a group of Technicians with well over 20 years of diverse skills and experience. Each team member brings in willingness to train and positive team energy. Some tasks you may be an individual contributor, but may also work in a group environment to achieve organizational goals. This group of Technicians thrived in success by working as a team. We are currently in research and development but moving towards production environment.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches) 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawingsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment
- Experience working with
FOD, ESD
sensitive hardware and clean room requirements- Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
- A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Some basic knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and/or satellite components
