  • depending on experience Job Description This role focuses on performing precise mechanical assembly operations on components produced through advanced manufacturing methods such as 3D printing, CNC machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and powder coating.
You will assemble these components into finished products by following detailed engineering drawings and work instructions, using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and assembly fixtures. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities Assemble manufactured components into finished products by following engineering drawings, work instructions, and established assembly procedures. Perform mechanical assembly operations including fastening, bonding, fitting, and alignment of parts to meet quality and functional requirements. Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly fixtures safely and effectively to complete sub-assembly and final assembly tasks. Install hardware such as screws, bolts, nuts, washers, rivets, and other fasteners according to specifications. Apply adhesives, sealants, and thread-locking compounds as specified in engineering and process documentation. Perform sub-assembly and final assembly operations, ensuring all components fit and function correctly. Verify part fit and alignment throughout the assembly process, making adjustments as needed to meet tolerance requirements. Conduct visual inspections to confirm that assemblies meet quality standards and customer requirements. Identify and report defects, nonconformances, or quality issues to manufacturing leaders and quality engineers in a timely manner. Perform functional tests on assembled products as required to validate performance and reliability. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience or equivalent technical training. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions accurately. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in mechanical assembly. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as part of regular assembly and material handling tasks. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise assembly operations. Basic computer skills for documentation, record-keeping, and accessing work instructions. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment. Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly or a related field. Experience with precision assembly and working to tight tolerances. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for interpreting engineering drawings. Experience using torque wrenches and precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers. Knowledge of adhesive bonding and mechanical fastening techniques. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00
