Job Description

Crate Builder Vancouver, WA Day Shift $23-24/hr. Job Description The Crate Builder constructs wooden crates and frameworks for parts and products, including large structural steel loads. This role follows established procedures, uses hand and power tools, and relies on accurate measurements to ensure that all crates are safe, secure, and built to specification. Responsibilities Build wooden crates and frameworks for parts, products, and large structural steel loads according to provided procedures and specifications. Read and interpret tape measurements accurately to cut materials to the correct dimensions. Perform light carpentry and basic framing tasks to assemble sturdy and secure crates. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, fastening, and assembling wood components. Handle materials and components throughout the crate-building process, including loading, moving, and positioning parts as needed. Assist with general shop help duties to support overall production, such as organizing materials, cleaning work areas, and preparing workstations. Inspect completed crates for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity before use or shipment. Follow safety guidelines and shop procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Essential Skills Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure. Experience with crate building, assembly, or similar woodworking tasks. Basic carpentry skills, including light framing and woodwork. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment. Proficiency with hand and power tools used in woodworking and construction. Capability to perform general labor and material handling in a shop environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in woodworking, cabinet making, framing, or truss building/assembly. Experience in construction, cabinetry, or similar trades. Comfort working in a fast-paced industrial shop setting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
