Job Title:
Assembly Operator - Quick Release Couplings Job Description This role focuses on assembling quick release couplings, operating assembly equipment, and ensuring products meet quality and performance standards in a clean, well-organized, and fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will contribute directly to continuous improvement initiatives while working both independently and as part of a collaborative team across multiple shifts. Responsibilities Assemble quick release couplings according to standard work instructions and quality requirements. Operate all assigned assembly equipment safely and efficiently to meet production goals. Package completed assemblies for shipment, ensuring correct labeling, packaging integrity, and accuracy. Verify the function and performance of products through visual inspection and functional checks. Follow standard work and documented work instructions to ensure consistency and quality. Ensure quality standards are met at every stage of the process and promptly report any defects or issues. Participate in continuous improvement activities using A3 and 3-legged 5 Why tools to identify root causes and implement solutions. Maintain a clean and organized work area by applying 5S principles consistently. Work in a safe manner at all times, complying with all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Use hand tools and basic mechanical tools correctly to assemble components and perform related tasks. Maintain a minimum daily attainment level of 90% or higher by managing time and workflow effectively. Collaborate with team members and support staff to resolve production issues and improve processes. Adapt to changing priorities and production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in assembly, production, or general labor in a manufacturing environment. Ability to operate assembly equipment and perform basic machine operation tasks. Proficiency using hand tools and basic mechanical tools safely and effectively. Good verbal and written communication skills to follow instructions and coordinate with team members. Good manual dexterity to handle small parts and perform precise assembly tasks. Strong attention to detail through visual inspection to identify defects or nonconforming parts. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Capability to perform in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining quality and accuracy. Motivated mindset with a positive, can-do attitude. Commitment to following safety policies, procedures, and best practices at all times. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with mechanical assembly in a bench-type assembly setting. Background in packaging and preparing products for shipment. Familiarity with continuous improvement tools such as A3 and 3-legged 5 Why problem-solving methods. Exposure to 5S principles and lean manufacturing practices. Comfort working with automated equipment and CNC-supported processes in a production environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in a well-lit, clean, and highly organized manufacturing facility with a climate-controlled environment. Work is primarily bench-type assembly, using hand tools and assembly equipment to build quick release couplings. The facility runs multiple shifts, including a first shift from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and a second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The organization is actively investing in new equipment, including automation and CNC machines, creating a modern and efficient production setting. The pace is fast, with clear production targets and quality expectations, and employees are expected to follow safety procedures and maintain 5S standards throughout the workday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chetek, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
