Job Title:
Hydraulic Technician Job Description The Hydraulic Technician assembles, tests, and repairs high-pressure hydraulic cylinders and pumps in a machine shop environment, ensuring that all products meet quality standards before shipment to customers. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. Responsibilities Assemble a variety of high-pressure hydraulic cylinders and pumps according to specifications and technical documentation. Perform functional testing on hydraulic assemblies to verify performance and identify any issues. Diagnose problems and complete repairs on hydraulic components and systems as needed. Prepare finished hydraulic products for shipment, including final checks, packaging, and documentation. Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to guide assembly, testing, and troubleshooting. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to manage mechanical assemblies and repairs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment, including proper storage of tools and materials. Follow established procedures and quality standards to ensure consistent, reliable product performance. Monitor equipment and tools for proper operation and report any maintenance needs. Work efficiently while standing for extended periods and lifting components up to 50 lbs throughout the shift. Essential Skills Hands-on experience assembling high-pressure hydraulic cylinders and pumps. Strong blueprint reading skills for mechanical assemblies. Solid understanding of hydraulic principles and hydraulic system operation. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics to support troubleshooting and repairs. Mechanical aptitude with experience in repair and troubleshooting of hydraulic and mechanical systems. Ability to work comfortably in a shop environment, standing for an 8-hour shift and lifting up to 50 lbs. Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and a focus on quality. Proficient use of hand and power tools for assembly and repair tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and related mechanical systems. Experience in troubleshooting hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components. Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean, organized work area in a machine shop setting. Strong commitment to safety practices in a shop environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sussex, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
