Key Responsibilities Operations & Output:
Oversee daily processing and packaging lines to consistently hit yield, throughput, and OEE targets.Safety & Compliance:
Enforce uncompromising adherence to FDA, USDA, HACCP, SQF/BRC, and OSHA standards.Team Leadership:
Manage, train, and mentor line supervisors and production personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.Process Optimization:
Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices to eliminate waste, minimize downtime, and reduce operational costs.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with QA, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Sanitation teams to ensure seamless shift handoffs and rapid equipment turnaround.Qualifications Experience:
8-10 years of production management experience specifically within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.Regulatory Expertise:
Deep working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, and GFSI-benchmarked standards (SQF, BRC, orFSSC 22000
).Leadership:
Proven track record of developing plant supervisors and managing workforce scheduling in a high-volume environment.Technical Skills:
strong command of ERP/MES software and data-driven continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 5S, TPM).Education:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. High SchoolResponsibilitiesA Production Manager at a food-grade facility balances output targets with strict safety and quality standards. Regulatory & Safety Compliance Enforce HACCP, cGMP, andFDA/USDA
regulations. Maintain audit readiness for SQF, BRCGS, orFSSC 22000
certifications. Oversee allergen control, traceability, and recall preparedness. Operations & Efficiency Drive daily manufacturing to meet yield, volume, and OEE targets. Optimize production schedules around sanitation cycles and material availability. Apply lean manufacturing to cut waste, downtime, and scrap rates. Sanitation & Quality Assurance Manage Master Sanitation Schedules, CIP/COP procedures, and line clearance. Partner with QA to handle non-conformances and execute CAPAs. Monitor environmental testing and raw material standards. Team & Facility Management Supervise, schedule, and train shift leads and line operators. Enforce workplace safety protocols (OSHA, PPE, machine guarding). Manage operational budgets, labor costs, and preventive maintenance routines.
