Plant Manager

Horizon Nut LLC is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our Tulare facility, specializing in pistachio processing. This role is responsible for overall plant performance, including production, warehouse, maintenance, sanitation, and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, ensure food safety compliance, and build high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities Oversee all plant functions: production (raw & RTE), warehousing, shipping, sanitation, and maintenance Align operations with company goals for safety, quality, service, and cost Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and managers Manage KPIs including throughput, yield, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery Drive Lean initiatives and process optimization Ensure compliance with FSMA, FDA, CDPH, and BRCGS standards Oversee warehouse, inventory, and shipping operations Ensure equipment reliability through preventive maintenance programs Champion a safety-first culture (OSHA compliance) Partner with HR on hiring, training, and employee engagement Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Agriculture, or related field 7-10+ years in food manufacturing or agricultural processing 3-5+ years of leadership experience managing multiple departments Experience in BRCGS or GFSI-certified environments required Preferred Certifications

Fumigation License Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and team-building abilities Deep knowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance Proven ability to manage KPIs and improve operational performance Experience with ERP/WMS systems Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Bilingual (Spanish) preferred Work Environment Fast-paced manufacturing environment with indoor/outdoor exposure, machinery, noise, and seasonal production demands.

Pay:

From $135,000.00 per year
