Job Description

Primus Pipe and Tube is seeking an experienced Production Manager to plans, coordinate, organize and control production of stainless steel pipe to include Continuous Welding, Batch Processing and Leadership of production operations. Key responsibilities are driven by efficient production of goods for accurate quantity, quality, on-time delivery and costs.
Responsibilities:
  • Planning, scheduling, and supervising all production processes and activities.
  • Ensure the safety strategies are in place for the production work environment.
  • Determining high quality standards of processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitors production schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Allocating both materials and human resources to accurately meet schedules.
  • Selecting and maintaining equipments and procedures to ensure timely performance.
  • Coordinates liaison role with key functional departments, and others to ensure continuous improvement to anticipate and prevent probable delays.
  • Working with senior management to effectively execute procedures, policies and goals of the organiza6tion.
  • Ensure strong relationship liaison role in interfacing with bargaining unit members.
  • Coordinates decision regarding the operating unit's layout, size and range of service or product to deliver and design work processes.
  • Leading, inspiring and developing team members to maximize their contributions.
Education:
Two-year Technical degree or equivalent years of experience in a manufacturing production environment.
Work Experience:
Extensive production experience in the metals fabrication industry including Tubular or stainless steel forming and finishing processes. Clear understanding or experience in continuous improvement and quality strategies.

  • Strong production knowledge/skills in steel fabrication.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, lean manufacturing and safety procedures.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Able to lead teams to develop optimized solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Good organizational ability and comfort within a multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of individuals in building and sustaining good working relations.
  • Thinks strategically with sound technical abilities, analytically skills, good judgment and operational focus.
  • Develops and inspires others to share in a common vision.
  • Ability to process and maintain confidential information.
  • Project an appropriate professional image while maintaining high ethical performance standards.
Functional competencies:
  • Possess relevant computer skills.
  • Comfortable working a high pace, technical manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of metal fabrication and welding processes. Technical and process knowledge of special grades and heavy wall pipes that offer value added services. Other specific skills and knowledge needed.
  • Ability with computers, mechanical equipment that's computerized and associated software in running equipment
  • Comfortable with hectic environment as a change agent
  • Possessing good leadership skills to inspire workers
  • Interpersonal abilities when interacting with union members to instill trust and respect while at the same time holding them accountable for high, quality performance
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
