Job Description

Production Manager Purpose:
The Production Manager provides direction and oversees production of employees enabling them to reach the daily job objectives, quality and productivity goals, while working in a heavy manufacturing union environment.
Job Duties:
Responsible for daily implementation of production goals and objectives which include: Expected to follow all safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries. Ensuring adherence to company policies and guidelines. Associated reporting. Responsible for compliance with all quality efforts in production through proper use of work instructions, processes and procedures. Controlling costs. Delivery of product in a timely manner in accordance with established business plans. Providing and maintaining a safe work environment. Building and maintaining a positive work environment. Production Managers responsible for management and direction of supervisors. Focus on management of efforts between maintenance and production. Implementing and carrying out production schedules for delivery of product. Coordination with other organizations and departments as needed to create a team environment.
Requirements:
High School diploma required, Bachelor degree is strongly preferred. 5 years or more of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is required. 5 years or more of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Metal Fabrication Industry experience. Knowledge of the Foundry Industry preferred. Union Supervisory experience is strongly preferred. General understanding of PCs and related software (Outlook, Word, Excel). Sound communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to plan work. Must be able to communicate in English for all business / job related transactions.
Schedule:
Day shift position with some evenings and weekends required.
Salary:
Salary commensurate with experience.
