Plant Manager - IL Posted on July 7, 2026 July 7, 2026 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking a Plant Manager to oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. This leadership role is responsible for managing plant performance, developing high-performing teams, optimizing resources, and achieving financial and operational goals. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with strong manufacturing experience and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. Position Responsibilities Plant Operations Direct and oversee daily manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, and delivery objectives. Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and plant performance. Monitor production schedules, equipment utilization, and workflow to maximize productivity. Leadership & Team Development Recruit, develop, and mentor supervisors and plant personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development initiatives. Safety & Compliance Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Oversee environmental, health, and quality compliance initiatives. Conduct regular safety reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary. Financial & Business Management Manage plant budgets, operating expenses, and overall financial performance. Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and operational efficiency. Track and report key operational and financial performance metrics. Quality & Continuous Improvement Ensure products consistently meet customer and quality standards. Lead Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Drive operational excellence through data-driven decision-making and performance improvement efforts. Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to support business objectives. Resolve operational challenges while maintaining exceptional customer service. Support inventory management, production planning, and supply chain coordination. Prerequisites Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. Experience managing manufacturing or industrial operations in a leadership role. Strong understanding of production processes, quality systems, and operational best practices. Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational metrics. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
