What we need Symbotic is seeking a Project Manager, External Manufacturing & Retrofit Programs to join our Manufacturing Program Management team within our BOT Manufacturing org. Your job will be to help lead complex manufacturing initiatives, retrofit programs, and cross-functional execution efforts across our contract manufacturing partners, driving planning, execution, and governance from initiation through completion. What we do The External Manufacturing team sits within the Quality organization and partners cross-functionally with internal teams and vendor manufacturers to ensure Symbotic's automated solutions meet and exceed quality, functional, and reliability standards by designing and implementing manufacturing strategies, quality systems, and standards that enable scalability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness as the company grows. In close collaboration with Project Management, Quality Engineering, and external manufacturing partners, the team ensures quality is embedded throughout every phase - from supplier components and manufacturing processes through installation and field deployment - delivering consistent, high-performing systems for our customers. What you'll do Own end-to-end execution of manufacturing and retrofit programs across Contract Manufacturing partners, from initiation through completion. Develop and maintain manufacturing schedules, milestones, and deliverables, driving cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing Operations, and Asset Management. Coordinate manufacturing readiness and production ramp activities, monitoring KPIs, schedule adherence, and Contract Manufacturer execution against program objectives. Identify program risks, constraints, and dependencies; maintain RAID logs and develop mitigation and recovery plans to protect program milestones. Create and maintain executive dashboards, status reports, and steering committee materials, communicating program health and risks to senior leadership. Develop scalable program management processes and governance frameworks, capturing lessons learned and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing programs. What you'll need Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of Program or Project Management experience in manufacturing, automation, robotics, industrial equipment, or related industries. Experience working with Contract Manufacturers and external suppliers, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations. Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional projects, schedules, risks, and dependencies across multiple workstreams. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
