Job Description
Supply Chain Manager We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Supply Chain Manager to join our team and drive excellence in our strategic planning and purchasing activities. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that optimize inventory management, product availability, warehouse efficiency, and overall planning and buying performance both internally, and across our supplier base using KPIs. The successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight to our buyer and scheduler using problem solving, decision making, and strong analytical skills developed through hands-on operational experience and success in driving business results. Responsibilities Lead inventory planning, replenishment, and availability using supply chain analytics by partnering with Finance, Operations, Engineering, Client Services, Sales, Marketing and IT. Participate in sales and operations planning and demand review processes. Lead supply chain continuous improvement projects from concept through implementation. Monitor, analyze and make timely decisions about emerging developments that impact the supply chain, consulting the appropriate Leadership Team members and other key stakeholders. Oversee and be responsible for using hands-on operational expertise to drive accuracy in inventory, delivery targets, safety stock parameters, and replenishment strategies. Maintain and improve inventory planning and replenishment processes using our ERP (Netsuite) system and other warehouse management systems. Support the management of inventory costs and cost reduction initiatives through collaboration with Finance, IT and Operations, and other cross functional departments. Support development of the annual plan by partnering with key departments such as sales, marketing, operations, and Finance. Oversee our procurement function, as well as annual inventory management, to streamline processes, increase efficiency, improve quality of procured materials and other purchased parts or components, while managing and reducing costs. Identify opportunities to reduce excess and obsolete inventory, while maintaining customer delivery expectations. Coach and develop team members to foster an environment focused on efficiency, cost reduction, improved planning and forecasting. Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing readiness for both new product development and standard manufacturing operations. Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve inventory management, eliminate waste, improve flow, and enhance overall facility efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives. Use Key Performance Indicators such as back orders, lost sales, working capital, and planning adherence, to make business decisions and drive CI projects where needed. Qualifications & Expertise Strong business problem solving skills and track record for driving results in a manufacturing setting. Excellent communication skills and an adaptive leadership style that can modify the approach based upon the needs of the organization, as well as the management approach to meet the needs of the team. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Operations, Engineering or related field preferred but not required. APICS, CPIM, CSCP or related certification preferred. Experience with planning, buying, scheduling, capacity planning, trade compliance, logistics, project management and coaching cross functional teams in the growth phase of a company life cycle. Knowledge and experience using ERP systems. Advanced MS Excel and the ability to analyze data to make key business decisions. Demonstrated ability at identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives. Strong knowledge of forecasting, inventory control, planning, procuring, supplier sourcing, and manufacturing operations in a low/mid volume/high mix with sku complexity. A minimum of five years of experience in Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment. Sheet metal manufacturing is beneficial.
Pay:
