Plant Manager

Consumers Concrete, a growing family-owned ready-mix concrete business in West Michigan, is seeking a motivated Plant Manager for our Niles or Benton Harbor locations to join our Operations Team. This key full-time position plays a vital role in leading daily plant operations, leading plant personnel, and ensuring outstanding service to our customers in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills who thrives in operations, logistics, and customer service. Previous experience in construction, transportation, ready-mix concrete, or plant operations is highly valued. A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus. High school diploma/GED required; Key Responsibilities Oversee daily plant operations including staff scheduling, load planning, dispatching, batching, and route optimization to ensure safe and timely concrete deliveries. Lead with purpose by inspiring, coaching, and developing plant employees to achieve operational excellence and deliver exceptional customer service. Coordinate closely with drivers, dispatch, customer service, and sales teams to exceed customer expectations and quickly resolve issues. Manage incoming customer orders and maintain efficient scheduling of ready-mix trucks for delivery. Monitor plant performance metrics related to efficiency, productivity, safety, and service quality. Foster a strong culture of safety by ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and operational best practices. Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and team members across the organization. Step in where needed to support plant operations and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.
