Job Description
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a tight-knit team of approximately 12-14 employees. The ideal candidate enjoys being visible on the shop floor, building relationships, and working closely with the team to solve problems and keep production moving. DCL, Inc. is seeking a hands-on, people-focused Plant Manager to lead our Traverse City manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for a leader who builds strong teams, drives engagement, and thrives in a production environment—especially someone with a background or appreciation for metalworking or fabrication. You'll be responsible for overseeing daily plant operations, developing your team, and ensuring we meet customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery. Success in this role comes from balancing operational discipline with a strong, visible leadership presence on the floor. What You'll Do Lead, coach, and develop production teams to create a safe, engaged, and high-performing workplace Plan and execute production schedules aligned with demand and plant capacity Partner with sales and leadership on forecasting and long-term planning Drive continuous improvement in quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency Oversee maintenance of equipment, facilities, and overall plant readiness Champion safety programs and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements Collaborate cross-functionally with purchasing, shipping, scheduling, and engineering to optimize operations Improve processes, workflows, and standard costs to support operational excellence Maintain strong communication across teams to ensure alignment and customer satisfaction Represent DCL positively in the local community What We're Looking For A people-first leader who is approachable, communicative, and committed to team development Experience in manufacturing leadership with progressive responsibility Background in welding, metalworking, fabrication, or a related industrial environment is strongly valued Proven ability to lead through others and drive accountability at all levels Strong operational and problem-solving skills Understanding of production planning, quality systems, and continuous improvement Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Work Environment Active plant environment requiring regular time on the production floor Frequent interaction with employees at all levels and external partners Reporting Structure Reports to:
