Ministry Function:
The Food Manufacturing Manager supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope by assisting the Food Manufacturing Director in all job functions including but not limited to safe operation of packaging lines, inventory management, warehousing, shipping, and facilities/maintenance and following all food safety regulations to guarantee the highest standards of quality are met. This position assists in ensuring optimal production flow and resolving operational issues promptly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates independent decision-making ability on behalf of the Food Manufacturing Director ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards are safeguarded and that project deadlines are managed and met. Responsible for assisting the Director in all manufacturing functions to include but not limited to, inventory management, warehousing, shipping, and facilities/maintenance. Manages the daily process for properly receiving product: unloading trucks, placing product into inventory, etc. Manages the daily process for properly handling outbound product: staging loads, loading trucks, etc. Manages the safe and efficient daily operation of packing lines under the direction of the Food Manufacturing Director. Collaborates with the Food Manufacturing Director on various projects and supervisory items as needed. Operates forklifts and various pieces of equipment for manufacturing operations. Assists in communication including but not limited to required reporting for compliance audits, inventory, fulfillment, and shipping. Assists Food Manufacturing Director in managing manufacturing team members and volunteers. Assists Food Manufacturing Director in overseeing proper organization of the Food Manufacturing facility, i.e. packaging lines, trash disposal, warehouse, equipment, and parking lot. Assists in monitoring inventory levels and coordinates with appropriate supply chain team members to ensure the timely arrival of ingredients and materials. Assists in maintaining Food Manufacturing Quality checks, food safety audit records, and all Food Manufacturing reporting and filing. Assists and provides direction with Hope Crew projects. Follows general and equipment specific safety rules. Uses appropriate safety protection equipment and other safety devices. Assists with the management of the Food Manufacturing Safety and Compliance for the facility. Fulfills all other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Three years' experience in warehouse/food manufacturing experience required. Two years' supervisory experience is preferred. A bachelor's degree is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Forklift certification and ability to drive other warehouse equipment required. Knowledge and experience with Food Manufacturing work environment preferred. Previous PCQI, HACCP, ServeSafe training preferred. Ability to positively contribute to team projects, cooperate with team members, and assist supervisors in planning and evaluation. Strong leadership and motivational skills are needed for effectively supervising team members. Exhibits strong Mac or PC proficiency and working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn food manufacturing systems as needed. Must be able to manage confidential information in a professional manner. Needs to have strong organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail. Must also be able to multitask and manage deadlines. Can work independently and resourcefully and must have both flexibility with shifting priorities and an eagerness to learn. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to traverse warehouse areas by walking, climbing stairs, and by operating a forklift. Must be able to stand, bend, crawl, stretch, lay, and squat frequently to maintain equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has supervisory responsibilities of operators and volunteers under the directions of the Food Manufacturing Director.
