Job Description
The Production Manager is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day leadership of the Press (Digital and Flexo) and Hand Bindery (Finishing) departments in a manner that maximizes productivity, meets scheduling requirements, and minimizes costs; in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to leads and operators within the Press (Digital andFlexo) and Hand Bindery (Finishing) departments.
- Coordinate day-to-day production activities for the Press (Digital and Flexo) and Hand Bindery(Finishing) departments.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement .
- Set clear performance objectives aligned with company goals.
- Provide regular feedback, mentorship, guidance, and support to production staff , fostering apositive and productive work environment.
- Manage production resources including staffing, equipment and materials to optimize efficiencyand minimize waste and downtime.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize productivity, efficiency, and qualitystandards.
- Promote a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industrystandards, and company protocols.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost -saving initiatives.
- Generate reports on production metrics including output volume, turnaround times, and qualityperformance, and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and execute department production schedules that meet customer requirements anddeadlines.
- Partner with the Quality department to implement and maintain rigorous quality control measuresto ensure the accuracy, clarity, and compliance of all finished goods.
- Ensure adherence to all budgetary requirements and goals.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 5-7 years of relevant work experience required. Bachelor's degreepreferred.
- Proven experience in operations/production management within the printing or packagingindustry, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
- Proficiency in implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvementmethodologies.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and regulatory requirements for pharmaceuticalpackaging.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, with excellent analytical and problem-solvingabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining acommitment to quality and compliance.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines related to operating machinery.
