MS Companies is supporting a confidential manufacturing client in the search for a Production Manager for their Battleboro, North Carolina assembly facility . This first-shift leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a high-volume assembly manufacturing environment , ensuring production efficiency, workforce engagement, and consistent quality performance. The Production Manager will lead a large production workforce while optimizing workflows, maintaining safety compliance, and driving productivity improvements across assembly operations. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing leadership experience in an assembly-based environment , a commitment to operational excellence, and the ability to coach and develop production teams in a fast-paced plant setting. This position is well suited for a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives in automotive-style assembly operations , continuous improvement initiatives, and team-driven production environments. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity Bachelor's degree required Proven experience leading teams in a production or assembly manufacturing environment Excellent project management and operational planning skills Demonstrated success training employees on productivity, safety, and process improvement Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development capabilities Preferred Skills & Qualifications Manufacturing Engineering degree 3+ years of management experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment Lean manufacturing experience Six Sigma certification Experience leading large production teams (100+ employees) Automotive manufacturing or supplier environment experience Continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives Day-to-Day Responsibilities Manage and evaluate machine and production resources to maximize productivity and minimize downtime Lead and oversee a manufacturing workforce of 130+ employees within an assembly environment Improve operational efficiency and reduce production expenses across assembly lines Ensure compliance with safety policies and industry health and safety standards Establish production goals and communicate expectations to production leadership and team members Provide leadership, motivation, and support to production employees and team leaders Identify operational obstacles and communicate production challenges to senior leadership Develop workflows and operational policies that improve speed and efficiency without compromising product quality or safety Develop employee schedules and maintain optimal staffing levels for assembly operations Assist team leaders with performance evaluations, corrective actions, and employee coaching Physical and Environment Requirements Physical expectations and working conditions associated with the job may include working inside a manufacturing assembly facility , frequent walking throughout the production floor, and regular interaction with employees and leadership teams.
Additional expectations may include:
