Type:

full-time The 2nd Shift Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and execution of Coronet's second-shift manufacturing operations. This position ensures that production is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with Coronet's quality standards. The Plant Manager will provide hands-on leadership across the production floor, ensuring supervisors and employees have the materials, information, staffing, and the necessary support to meet daily production goals. The role is responsible for maintaining accountability throughout the shift, identifying and resolving production issues quickly, and ensuring an effective transition between first and second shift. Success in this position requires a strong floor presence, an ability to make timely decisions, attention to production data and quality, and a continuous-improvement mindset. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of second-shift production performance and execution of the established manufacturing schedule. Monitor production progress against daily targets and take corrective action when production falls behind. Allocate employees and resources based on workload, priorities, and production requirements. Identify production bottlenecks and adjust labor or workflow when necessary. Coordinate with supporting departments when material, engineering, quality, equipment, or documentation issues prevent production from moving forward. Lead and hold accountable second-shift supervisors, leads, and production employees. Establish clear expectations for productivity, quality, attendance, workplace conduct, and performance. Ensure supervisors are actively managing their areas rather than simply reacting to problems. Ensure employees remain focused on assigned work and production priorities. Ensure products manufactured during second shift meet Coronet's established quality standards. Ensure quality issues are identified, documented, contained, and communicated promptly. Ensure employees follow approved work instructions, drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing procedures. Ensure production data is recorded accurately and reflects actual work completed during the shift. Qualifications 5-10+ years of manufacturing or plant operations experience preferred. Experience in a high-mix manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage production schedules, labor, quality, and daily manufacturing priorities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to interpret production reports, drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation. Strong organizational and communication skills. Comfortable working with ERP systems. Lighting manufacturing experience is a plus.
