Job Description:
Saab's U.S. Surveillance division in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic Manufacturing Program Manager (MPM) to support the Manufacturing organization. In this role, you will help ensure assigned programs meet or exceed schedule and financial objectives, all deliverables comply with customer technical requirements and Saab Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all milestones and deliverables are completed on schedule. The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Manufacturing Program Management.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage program schedules and budgets with an in-depth understanding of key manufacturing metrics and financial practices. Collect and report project status to internal stakeholders and customers. Lead meetings and effectively present results and program updates to internal and external customers during technical and program reviews. Support and manage subcontract management, purchasing, and program resource planning. Ensure compliance with Saab Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Interface with Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Configuration Management (CM), Quality Assurance (QA), and Purchasing organizations. Generate, track, and maintain program action items and risks using program management tools. Work with Operations to plan and coordinate manufacturing activities for assigned projects. Develop an understanding of Saab's core competencies and products. Develop an in-depth understanding of Saab's program management SOPs and Saab's Oracle-based ERP tools (e.g., finance, procurement, and manufacturing).
Compensation Range:
$92,200 - $115,300 The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in project management, manufacturing project management, and/or operations. Experience with cost accounting and reporting. Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Visio, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint). Ability to multitask, stay highly organized, and demonstrate strong time management skills with a continuous desire to learn. Proactive with the ability to follow up on action items and requests. Results-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment with individuals at all levels of the organization. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a defense contract manufacturing environment.
