Adecco Search is actively recruiting for a Plant Superintendent in the Upstate New York area. Our client is We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Plant Superintendent to lead plant operations within a fast-paced corrugated packaging manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overall plant performance, including safety, production, quality, and team development.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives on the plant floor, builds strong teams, and drives continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, meeting customer expectations, and fostering a culture of accountability and engagement across all shifts.
Key Responsibilites for the Plant Superintendent in Upstate, NY:
Provide hands-on leadership to production supervisors, leads, and plant personnel across multiple shifts
Build and sustain a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
Coach, mentor, and develop frontline leaders to strengthen succession planning and bench strength
Lead by example in promoting safety, quality, and operational discipline
Drive employee engagement initiatives and maintain a positive labor/management environment
Oversee daily plant operations including corrugator, converting, and finishing processes
Ensure production schedules are achieved while optimizing efficiency, throughput, and waste reduction
Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, quality, productivity, downtime, and scrap
Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
Ensure adnce to quality standards and customer specifications
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase operational efficiency
Manage labor, material usage, and operational costs to meet budget targets
Analyze production data and financial metrics to drive performance improvements
Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process enhancements

Experience driving cultural and operational change initiatives
Job Requirements for the Plant Superintendent:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
7-10+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in corrugated, packaging, paper, or related industr
5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing supervisors and production teams
