PLANT MANAGER
Location:
Peekskill, NY Schedule:
On-Site | 2nd Shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM)
COMPENSATION
    Hourly Rate:
    $33.00 - $41.00 per hour (Based on Experience)

    JOB SUMMARY
    Our client is seeking a hands-on Plant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a high-volume production facility. Reporting directly to the Senior Plant Manager, this individual will be responsible for driving production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, ensuring equipment reliability, and leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can successfully balance production goals, employee development, workplace safety, and continuous improvement while maintaining operational excellence.
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, and delivery schedules are consistently achieved.
    • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop production employees and supervisors to build a high-performing team.
    • Monitor production processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and lower operating costs.
    • Partner with maintenance teams to ensure machinery and equipment are properly maintained and production downtime is minimized.
    • Analyze production metrics and implement process improvements to maximize productivity.
    • Develop production schedules and allocate labor resources to meet changing business demands.
    • Recruit, train, evaluate, and mentor production staff.
    • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.
    • Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with company standards and customer expectations.
    • Lead quality assurance initiatives and support continuous improvement programs.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, workplace safety policies, and environmental standards.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional departments to improve operational performance.
    • Maintain accurate production reports, labor metrics, and operational records.
    • Stay current with manufacturing technologies, equipment advancements, and industry best practices.
    • Promote cross-training and workforce flexibility to support production demands.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Plant Manager, Production Manager, Operations Manager, or similar manufacturing leadership role.
    • Experience leading production teams in manufacturing, industrial, laundry, textile, food processing, or other high-volume production environments.
    • Proven ability to improve productivity, lead teams, and drive operational performance.
    • Strong knowledge of production planning, quality control, inventory management, and process improvement.
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
    • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to effectively collaborate with maintenance teams.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems or manufacturing software is preferred.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
