Type:

full-time Akkodis is seeking Director of Manufacturing job with a client in Syracuse, NY. Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field to be considered. You will be responsible for building the operational infrastructure, including the people, systems, processes, and operations organizational capabilities, required to support the Company's rapid growth while maintaining the responsiveness, flexibility, quality, and customer experience. You will also serve as a player-coach and operational leader, partnering closely with the President and leadership team to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Salary Range:

$130/k. to $150/k. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Director of Manufacturing responsibilities include:

Lead manufacturing, quality, maintenance, production planning, supply chain, and logistics activities across the entire operation. Develop and mentor production and operations personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Build organizational capability and bench strength to support future growth. Own and enhance operational metrics and KPIs that provide visibility into safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory, and customer performance. Ensure customer delivery requirements are consistently met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Standardize manufacturing processes while maintaining the flexibility required to support customized project execution. Drive improvements in labor efficiency, throughput, and schedule attainment. Lead Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and build a culture that fosters and drives continuous improvement from the plant floor up. Eliminate waste, improve process flow, and reduce reliance on manual workarounds and heroic efforts. Identify operational capacity constraints and proactively develop plans for labor, equipment, automation, and process improvement. Champion an uncompromising culture where safety and quality are foundational operating principles. Lead QA and QC processes that build quality into the manufacturing process rather than relying on inspection alone. Develop quality metrics and leading indicators that prevent issues rather than simply measuring defects. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve process consistency and product quality. Ensure compliance with customer requirements and internal standards. Develop detailed manufacturing plans that optimize manufacturing capacity across varying project types, providing clear visibility into production schedules and timing to the broader organization.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field is required. Minimum 15 years related experience. Demonstrated experience in manufacturing operations, planning, scheduling, inventory management, and supply chain. Experience with ERP systems, 5S, and robust continuous improvement methodologies.
