Key Responsibilities:

Manage Plant Operations and Maintenance Manages a team of plant operations and maintenance managers and staff responsible for ensuring that PGE coal, natural gas, hydro or wind generating plant operates safely, reliably and efficiently at optimal cost; provides plant technical oversight for the team, ensuring that objectives are met and all relevant standards/procedures are followed; ensures that operational and maintenance problems are identified and resolved; ensures that fleet and plant procedures and working practices are current and fit for the purpose; oversees the performance management lifecycle for the team and for individuals. Manage Plant Strategy and Performance Develops overall business strategy to meet complex regulatory requirements and business demands; adapts strategy and tactics to meet changing market demands; oversees the development of operational performance metrics; monitors operational performance; oversees development and implementation of strategies around workforce optimization, employee engagement, safety and risk mitigation. Safety Leadership Ensures fleet and plant procedures provide for safe and effective operation and maintenance, including, but not limited to, testing, startup and shutdown and operating equipment in emergency situations; continually promotes and enforces safety practices and ensures all staff are competent in their assigned roles and complete required training; oversees development of safety culture within organization; monitors safety data and trends; oversees root-cause analysis and implementation of mitigation strategies.
