Business Development & Production Manager Kingstree, SC Vereens Fertilizers Full-Time | Salaried Position Job Summary Vereens Fertilizers, a division of Vereens Turf Products, is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development & Production Manager for our Kingstree, SC fertilizer manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of granular fertilizer production while supporting business growth and customer development initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and understand the importance of operational efficiency, inventory management, logistics coordination, and delivering high-quality fertilizer products during peak seasonal demand. Vereens Fertilizers serves the Golf, Sports Turf, Lawn Care, Retail, and Agricultural markets throughout the Southeast and is actively investing in operational improvements, automation, and expanded manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Production & Operations Oversee all day-to-day granular fertilizer manufacturing operations Manage production scheduling to meet customer demand and seasonal volume Coordinate raw material receiving, storage, and inventory management Maintain accurate finished goods inventory and product flow Supervise blending, packaging, loading, and shipping operations Ensure product quality, consistency, and accuracy across all fertilizer blends Monitor and improve plant efficiency and operational performance Lead operational planning to successfully manage peak season production demands Oversee preventative maintenance programs for plant equipment and vehicles Maintain safe, organized, and efficient plant operations Work closely with warehouse, logistics, and transportation teams to ensure timely deliveries Leadership & Planning Lead and manage plant employees and daily workflow Establish production priorities and operational goals Utilize historical production and inventory data to improve planning and forecasting Support process improvements and future plant expansion projects Maintain compliance with company safety standards and operational procedures Business Development Support customer growth initiatives across golf, sports turf, lawn care, retail, and agricultural markets Work alongside the Vereens sales team to strengthen customer relationships and identify new opportunities Attend select trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings Support the continued expansion of private label and specialty fertilizer manufacturing programs Qualifications Management or leadership experience in fertilizer manufacturing, agriculture, turf, industrial production, or related industries preferred Strong understanding of granular fertilizer production processes and inventory management Experience with manufacturing operations, production planning, and logistics coordination Proven leadership and team management abilities Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to lead in a fast-paced seasonal production environment Mechanical aptitude and equipment management experience preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive salaried compensation based on experience and qualifications Health insurance 401(k) Company vehicle Computer About Vereens Vereens is a long-standing family-owned company with deep roots in the turf and agricultural industries.
