Job Description
Eaton's Electrical Sector is hiring a Plant Manager for their Commercial Products & Assemblies (CPA) business. This position will be based in Sumter, SC. ##
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Plant Manager will be the site leader for a large Engineer to Order (ETO) manufacturing operation manufacturing Panelboards and Switchboards for the electrical industry. The Plant Manager is responsible for driving strategic and operational leadership. This exceptional leader will hold responsibility for profitability, safety, quality, productivity, materials management, delivery, training and continuous improvements. They will provide oversight for all capital requirements; and will be directly responsible for implementation and financial accountability. The Plant Manager will drive plant performance as defined by regional and local objectives. This person has overall responsibility for all strategic and day-to-day activities impacting the Plant for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory (High 5 Metrics). The Plant Manager is also responsible for developing and maintaining a highly effective partnership with the product line teams to meet and exceed customer and business expectations.Essential Functions:
- Sets overall plant policies and procedures to ensure effective operations consistent with the Eaton Business System, Values and Philosophy
- Directs all functions of facility operations, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Safety, Quality, SCM, OpEx, HR and Finance
- Aligns operational objectives with the overall business objectives to ensure a strategy-focused workforce
- Directs and mentors the plant leadership team in the performance of their respective roles and consistent with the Eaton Leadership model
- Fosters an environment which promotes Eaton's goals, encourages continuous improvement, and builds customer relationships
- Drives the compliance to the ethics policy and holds others accountable for ethical conduct
- Accountable for the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the quality, efficiency, and profitability of the overall plant
- Maintains a workforce of highly motivated employees with a morale that is conducive to high levels of employee engagement
- Establishes interfaces with Divisional/Corporate management to assess customer needs and assures accurate project or program technical direction for operations engineering and manufacturing
- Works in close partnership with the marketing function to drive service and growth in the business ##
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience leading people
- Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
Position Criteria:
- A thorough understanding of financial practices and financial statements is required, including capital equipment analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, project cost analysis, maintenance analysis, and organizational techniques
- A demonstrated ability to drive change and successfully lead and implement the change activities
- Working knowledge of information systems, human resources and driving key projects and plant initiatives
- Demonstrated knowledge of the methods and practices supporting manufacturing, materials/purchasing and quality assurance
- Excellent facilitation/coaching skills. Ability to coach functional and leadership teams and help leaders of people develop skills to manage global workforce.
- Proven ability to influence and work effectively across all levels in a highly matrixed environment

Education:
- An undergraduate degree is required.
