The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the staff, equipment, materials, relationships, and processes related to purchasing, inventory control, and logistics. The role oversees day-to-day activities related to sourcing, purchasing, inventory control, planning, and shipping to provide exceptional service and value to internal and external customers. Ensure high performance through a combination of robust process and team development. Support local and global initiatives as the voice of supply chain and serve as a role model of USTER values. Manage all day-to-day activities of sourcing, purchasing, inventory control, planning, and shipping. Ensure timely material master planning and manage distribution of the waterfall schedule. Own supply chain performance and proactively mitigating risks related to quality, delivery, and costs. Spearhead cost reduction activities of both direct and indirect materials and services. Lead sourcing and qualification activities for new suppliers. Maintain inventory accuracy and integrity including shelf life and revision control. Serve as ERP key user for supply chain responsible for effectiveness of entire system including part master data such as purchase pricing, safety stock, MOQ, and lead time. Manage spare part and assembly inventories to minimize lead times while controlling associated costs. Maintain supplier records including scorecards, risks assessments, etc... and conducts regular audits and feedback sessions. Ensure employee engagement through bi-weekly 1:1 with direct reports, annual performance reviews, personal development plans, and formal corrective action when appropriate. Manage risks associated with end-of-life and sole-sourced materials. Create process documentation including work instructions, training aids, policies, and procedures. Publish monthly reports for reporting areas. Provide monthly material expense projections to Finance. Collaborates with the Global Skill Group Team to continuously improve and align processes. Manage ECO implementation internally and throughout the supply chain to control costs and supply interruptions. Co-own cycle counting and annual physical inventory results in collaboration with Finance. Participate in management reviews, ISO audits, and other discussions. Support cross-company (global) order processing for instruments and spare parts. Serve as a role model of USTER's company values to direct reports ensuring staff operate within these values. Fulfill other responsibilities as needed.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field required. Five (5) years management experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment of complex/engineered to order products. Ten (10) years procurement and inventory control experience required. Material planning and scheduling experience. Skilled in coaching individuals and developing high-performance teams. Skilled in maintaining ERP data (IFS preferred), implementation experience strongly desired. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly with financial reporting. Experience with import and export regulations is a plus. ROHS experience a plus. Lean Manufacturing experience, independent certification is a plus. Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.Requirements:
Occasional lifting and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds; requires extensive standing, walking, stooping and bending. Requires good organizational skills. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Authorized to work in the United States.Position Type:
Full-time Traditional Monday-Friday schedule. ONSITE located in Knoxville, Tennessee. Occasional overnight travel may be required including internationally. Total required travel is less than 10%.AA/EOE M/F/D/V
