Job Overview:
The Production Manager is responsible for supervising team members, plan and assign work, apply policies and procedures, recommend improvements in methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions while meeting or exceeding established production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises the operation of the Production Area for the shift
- Receives the Production schedule from the Planner and discusses it prior to assignment of filling equipment
- Communicates with Quality Management for any variances on the filling procedures.
- Lead team members to identify and resolve quality defects, equipment constraints, material problems, etc.
- Set high standards of professional conduct relative to adherence to safe work practices, product quality, personal work habits, positive attitude, housekeeping and Company Policies
- Manage any requests for equipment and any supplies
- Must keep the Production area in clean condition (Clean the area as you work)
- Establish a mutually supportive and effective interface with other production teams, their management, and other supporting departments.
- Trains all personnel and new hires to ensure that they perform their roles effectively
- Manage temporary headcount and verification of hours weekly.
- Ensures that all products are filled an packed according to the manufacturing instructions provided and that all batch paperwork is completed in an accurate and thorough manner
- Assure accuracy of all documentation, to include: o Packaging Records o Cleaning Logs o Warehouse Transfer sheets o Production Tickets o Investigations
- Effectively interface with Quality Control and Microbiology Lab Technicians
- Cleans and sanitizes any equipment used in the product packaging process in accordance with SOPs
- Willing to be flexible with hours as may be needed from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education High school
- 10+ years of Production experience in cosmetics or consumer products
- 5+ years of Supervisory experience
- Effective communication
