ROC Assistant Manager Matheson Tri-Gas United States, Texas, Irving Jun 20, 2026
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for safety, quality, and financial performance of the Remote Operations Center. Manage 24/7 remote production operation to include production planning, reliability, and operational efficiency. Manage the ROC's Quality Management System including assisting with Management Reviews, Audits, ISO, etc. Manage the ROC staff to include scheduling, payroll, training & development, performance reviews and other human relations activities. Operator development and training. Assist with ROC recruitment and onboarding. Manage Department Incident Reports pertaining to the ROC. Ensure all ROC personnel stay FDA compliant through revision and yearly refresher training. Ensure all ROC Field Coverage operators are Smith System trained and current. Assist with ROC Projects and ROC Field Coverage assignments and schedules. Responsible for ensuring all Field Coverage costs are transferred to an appropriate location or CR. Develop and manage quality control processes to improve production reliability. Work with staff, management, engineers, and customers to develop new standards for production. Participate in and lead small improvement projects (SIP) and The Right Way (TRW) projects. Troubleshoot systems and assist in plant operations. Requirements:
Safety and Quality Focus. Must have ability to effectively manage a team. Ability to effectively communicate through excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate critical thinking capability to troubleshoot production supply chain issues. Proficient in organizational skills. Plan, organize, and coordinate work. Ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects, and multi-task. Analytical and systematic problem solving and attention to detail and accuracy. Strong conceptual skills, basic knowledge of manufacturing techniques, advanced process design knowledge, and technical presentation Position requires sound comprehensive knowledge of process design, computer modeling, and reading of PFDs, P&ID, charts and graphs from design data, etc. Proficient in technical writing. Demands:
The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. ROC Operator portion of role will be performed primarily in an office environment. The ROC Operator may also be required to work from a home location, which must be conducive to performing the role and duties, including virtual/video meetings. Job will require extensive daily usage of a computer, and other office equipment. The Remote Operation Center is a 24/7 facility that requires rotating day and night shift coverage. Employees will be required to work weekends, holidays, days and nights as required by their assigned schedule. Field Coverage will potentially occur where ever Matheson has a facility, and during any season. Climbing ladders/stairs of coldbox or tanks, multiple times per day. Working with hand tools and applying sufficient force to accomplish tasks. Fine/detailed adjustments of instruments. Lifting fifty (50) pounds to waist height. Ability to perform physical work while bending and twisting. Must be able to wear proper PPE for tasks - e.g. glasses, masks, gloves, etc. Must pass background check and drug test. Must sign NDA.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent Associates or bachelor's degree preferred, in Chemical or Process Technology ideally Minimum 5 years Air Separation/Industrial Gas experience expected
Salary Range:
$80,000-$130,000
