This position is based in Cloverdale , VA , supporting Volvo's manufacturing operations . The facility manages production support, warehousing, inventory management, and material flow activities that are critical to maintaining customer production schedules and operational performance. Position Summary The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the operation. This individual will oversee all aspects of safety, quality, customer service, inventory management, labor planning, financial performance, and employee development while ensuring the facility consistently meets operational and customer expectations. The successful candidate will serve as the primary customer contact and lead a team of supervisors, managers, and hourly employees in a fast-paced manufacturing support environment. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and direction for daily warehouse, logistics, and production support operations Manage customer relationships and ensure service commitments are achieved Drive safety, quality, productivity, and inventory accuracy throughout the operation Develop and manage facility budgets, labor plans, and operational forecasts Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) while identifying opportunities for improvement Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and management staff Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and OSHA regulations Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues and improve performance Oversee staffing, employee relations, performance management, and succession planning efforts Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, safety, and cost reduction Manage audits, inventory control processes, and operational compliance activities Maintain accountability for facility financial performance and customer satisfaction Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred 7+ years of leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, automotive, or supply chain operations Previous experience managing large teams in a customer-facing environment Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and material flow processes Experience managing budgets, labor planning, and operational KPIs Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills Excellent communication and customer relationship management abilities Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Working knowledge of WMS platforms, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office Experience supporting automotive or manufacturing customers is strongly preferred
