Position Summary Georg North America with operations in Roanoke, VA and Alpharetta, GA is the subsidiary for sales, service, and engineering for the entire GEORG product line in Canada, USA and Mexico. We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Project Manager - Industrial Manufacturing Operations to support and improve operational excellence at our manufacturing site in Roanoke, VA . The ideal candidate will combine strong manufacturing operations experience with project management, procurement coordination, and process optimization expertise to improve efficiency, cost control, supplier performance, and production execution across the organization. Your Tasks Manufacturing Operations & Process Improvement Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing processes, workflow efficiency, production scheduling, and operational performance. Analyze existing operational procedures and identify opportunities for cost reduction, lead time improvement, and productivity gains. Develop and implement standardized operational processes, reporting structures, and performance metrics. Coordinate cross-functional improvement efforts between engineering, production, purchasing, fabrication, machining, and logistics teams. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence. Project Management & Cost Tracking Implement and manage project management systems and tools to improve visibility into project schedules, budgets, labor hours, procurement status, and manufacturing costs. Track project financial performance including material costs, outsourced work, labor utilization, and overall project profitability. Develop reporting dashboards and KPI tracking tools for management review. Coordinate project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time execution of manufacturing and customer projects. Identify project risks, cost overruns, and scheduling conflicts while driving corrective actions. Procurement & Vendor Development Identify, qualify, and develop new vendors and subcontractors to support manufacturing capacity and cost competitiveness. Manage RFQs, vendor evaluations, pricing comparisons, and supplier performance reviews. Support strategic sourcing initiatives to improve supplier reliability, quality, delivery, and cost savings. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, machine shops, steel providers, and fabrication partners. Manufacturing Support & Collaboration Work closely with engineering and production teams to support manufacturability improvements and production readiness. Assist with outsourcing strategies for machining, fabrication, and specialty manufacturing operations. Support inventory planning, material flow coordination, and production scheduling activities. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards throughout manufacturing operations. Your Profile Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present complex solutions in an accessible manner. Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, industrial project management, procurement, or heavy equipment manufacturing. Strong understanding of heavy industrial machinery manufacturing, metal fabrication, machining processes, and industrial production environments. Experience in the metals industry preferred. Experience implementing project tracking, budgeting, or ERP/project management systems. PMP certification or project management experience preferred. Knowledge of procurement processes, vendor sourcing, subcontract manufacturing, and supplier management. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, project management or ERP software, and manufacturing reporting tools.
