Full Job Description Role Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to day production at the Truss Plant. Coaches, motivates and supports the production crew, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication with the staff. Scope of the
Position:
This position is responsible for a production team on one shift at the Madison, AL Truss Plant. Direct reports include 3 Lead Employees and 40 Production Employees.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities expected of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Coach the production team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadlines and updates Comply with all OSHA safety requirements Communicate effectively with the management staff and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to ensure that production objectives are met Ensure company policies and procedures are followed Organize workflow according to workload to ensure the completion of the production schedule Oversee all staff scheduling, time off request Monitor quality and accuracy of all orders Ensure the completion of all duties with minimum waste and abuse of equipment Ensure employee safety training is conducted as required Provide a positive, motivating example for employees Conduct training or authorize training of production employees Conduct formal performance reviews per the company's policy. Initiate disciplinary action according to company policy when needed and dismiss employees when all corrective attempts have failed per policy Take all necessary action to manage production cost and improve profit Inform Truss Plant Manager of equipment and production concerns Maintain a clean and safe work environment Follow Wilson Lumber's core values Perform the duties of the Truss Plant Manager in the Truss Plant Manager's absence
Position Qualifications:
Strong commitment to creating a work environment where employees want to do their best Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong analytical skills Self-Starter requiring little to no direction Strong interpersonal skills Moderate computer skills Exceptional organizational skills Ability to think strategically Proven track record of meeting business objectives Must have a proven track record in effectively managing operational strategy, safety programs, and customer satisfaction
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience A minimum of 5+ years' experience in operations management, and/or production management in the construction industry or construction related industry
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time Lift at least 50 pounds Able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment You will be expected to follow any other job related instructions and to perform other job related duties as requested by management.
