Job Description

Overview:
The Production Supervisor directs the activities of team members during the shift period. The Production Supervisor will provide training, create work schedules, evaluate the performance of team members, and process discipline team members who fail to follow company policy and procedures. The Production Supervisor is also the contact person for team members with complaints or requests for time off. The Production Supervisor will investigate complaints and resolve personality issues between workers. The Production Supervisor may act as mentors, develop employees, and encourage workers to set goals and strive for advancement in the organization. The Production Supervisor prepares production reports for management and ensures their department meets the company's expectations for quality, productivity and safety. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the production processes through continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures, to include, but not limited to performance and attendance.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance, general issues. Problem solving and troubling shooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Work closely with other Supervisors to ensure production handovers are effective communications tools.
  • Follow any other instructions, and perform any other related duties, as may be required by the Manager.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulations to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Education/Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years' experience in automotive/industrial manufacturing.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED required or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • Able to work extended hours on occasions when required and to attend meetings when scheduled.
  • Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish)
Skills/Specifications:
  • Technical and mechanical background, with an emphasis in problem solving and efficiency.
  • Able to effectively communicate and motivate coherently - both verbally and via written media.
  • Effective management skills to lead a team of subordinates.
  • Great organizational and administrative skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all department managers and presidents.
  • Dynamic, energetic, self-driven, results-oriented personality.
Pay:
$54,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
