JOB SUMMARY
The Shift Supervisor - Forming & Welding ensures that all shift activities align with the plant's Quality Management System (QMS) and that production runs according to plan, work instructions, and process specifications. This role reviews station reports throughout the shift and is directly responsible for maintaining the forming and welding quality of pipes produced on the line.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all operations department activities align with the plant's Quality Management System. Ensure production activities are carried out per the production plan, work instructions, and process sheets/QAP. Allocate manpower according to plan to maintain smooth, uninterrupted operations. Monitor and maintain raw material consumption within specified limits. Maintain adequate stock levels of semi-variable materials. Verify and ensure adherence to process control parameters. Implement work instructions for inspection activities across the shift. Maintain discipline and housekeeping standards throughout the plant. Improve product, process, and system quality by training and mentoring shift employees. Ensure the safety of all employees on shift. Prepare and manage shift schedules for shift employees. Generate purchase requisitions, material reservations, and issue tickets as needed. Prepare and distribute accurate production shift reports. Give focused attention to the edge milling, forming, welding, and cutoff stations. Achieve production targets while ensuring quality remains within established norms. Monitor and drive performance across safety, quality, traceability, productivity, downtime, and waste metrics. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role directly supervises operators, assistant operators, and workmen. Supervisory duties are carried out in accordance with Welspun's policies and applicable laws, and include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and administering discipline; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Ability to read and interpret ISO standards and client specifications. Delegation — effectively delegates work assignments to team members. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related science field with a minimum of 4-5 years of experience, OR Associate degree with 7-8 years of experience in a coating plant or equivalent manufacturing industry. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including ISO and other applicable codes, standards, and specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write clear routine reports and correspondence, and to communicate effectively with both customers and employees. Mathematical Skills Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical production scenarios. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems involving variable, non-standardized conditions, and to interpret instructions delivered in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations Not required for this role. Other Skills & Abilities Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze production data and apply statistical process control (SPC) tools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
